MAIA YOSHIYASU REPRESENTA PEACEMAKER NO DESBANIMENTO PELA ESIC

Luiz Felipe Maia e a equipe da área de Gaming e Tecnologia de MAIA YOSHIYASU ADVOGADOS, representaram Luis “Peacemaker”, coach do Imperial do Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) no desbanimento pela ESIC – Esports Integrity Commission.

No caso, “Peacemaker” foi acusado de utilizar o “bug do coach”, em 2020, considerada uma trapaça por permitir acessar locais do mapa do oponente. Em audiência realizada com a ESIC, foi comprovado que o coach caiu no bug por acidente, e sem qualquer intencionalidade de obter vantagem no jogo. 

O técnico estava entre vários que foram suspensos pela ESIC, sendo um dos primeiros a serem inocentados e desbanidos pela entidade. 

Um grande orgulho fazer parte dessa defesa para garantia de maior integridade na comunidade de E-Sports.

Luiz Felipe Maia and his Gaming and Technology team at Maia Yoshiyasu Advogados, represented Luis “Peacemaker”, Imperial coach of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) in his unban by ESIC – Esports Integrity Commission.

In the case, “Peacemaker” was accused of using the “coach bug”, in 2020, considered a cheat for allowing accessing locations on the opponent’s map. In a hearing held with the ESIC, it was proven that the coach fell into the bug by accident, and without any intention of gaining an advantage in the game.
The technician was among several who were suspended by the ESIC, being one of the first to be exonerated and unbanned by the entity.

A great pride for us to be part of this defense to ensure greater integrity in the E-Sports community.

“JANELA DE OPORTUNIDADE” PODE POSSIBILITAR A VOTAÇÃO DA LEI QUE LIBERA O JOGO APÓS AS ELEIÇÕES DE OUTUBRO | “WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY” WOULD MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO VOTE THE RELEASE OF GAMBLING AFTER THE OCTOBER ELECTIONS

Parlamentares que defendem projeto de lei que libera jogos de azar no país enxergam a possibilidade de votação no Senado ainda este ano, após as eleições de outubro.

O texto, que foi aprovado pela Câmara dos Deputados em fevereiro, está parado desde então. Contudo, com a aprovação do projeto de lei que estabeleceu o piso nacional para enfermeiros, um novo foco de pressão surgiu.

A conexão entre os projetos se encontra no fato que a proposta que institui o piso dos enfermeiros não apresenta fontes de recursos para cobrir esses valores. Parlamentares da Câmara dos Deputados, então, passaram a articular para que a arrecadação tributária que viria com a liberação dos jogos de azar fosse destinada para bancar esse gasto.

Isso porque o PL para a votação da liberação prevê a criação de uma contribuição incidente sobre a comercialização de jogos e apostas, destinada justamente ao financiamento de programa e ações na saúde pública.

O Presidente do Senado ainda não se comprometeu com a votação neste ano. Há, entretanto, uma articulação de deputados e alguns senadores para que a proposta seja votada  em uma “janela de oportunidade” após as eleições de outubro e antes do final da atual legislatura.

Congressmen who defend the bill that allows gambling in the country, oversee the possibility of voting it later this year, after the October elections.

The text, which was approved by the House of Representatives in February, has been stalled since then. However, with the settlement of the national minimum wage for nurses, a new focus of pressure emerged.

The connection between the projects lies in the fact that the proposal establishing the nurses’ starting salary does not present sources of resources to cover this cost.  Congressman from the Chamber of Deputies, then, began to articulate that the tax that would be collected with the release of gambling would be destined to pay for this expense.

This is because the bill for the release of gambling provides for the creation of a contribution incident on the commercialization of gambling and bets, intended precisely to finance programs and actions for the public health.

The President of the Senate has not yet committed to the vote this year. There is, however, an articulation of deputies and some senators so that the proposal would be voted during  a “window of opportunity” after the October elections and before the end of the current legislature.
